Life is Short
I found out this morning that there was an awful tragedy last night in Waco, TX. Turns out, I knew those people because they’ve been big supporters of my dad’s political career, were homeschoolers, so moved in some of the same circles as we did, and in 2006, the four oldest Hausmann children, including Luke, campaigned really hard for my dad in the last five days of the election; Drew was leading the team working that race and got to know them very well. I did not know them as well, but last night, the family was driving home to KS and this freak accident took Luke’s life and left Anna in critical condition (she was in surgery this morning; haven’t heard what’s happened next, but I guess it was a miracle she lived through the night). Sometimes the business of life pushes away the thoughts of our mortality, and then events like this happen to remind us that one moment we are here, and the next gone. If those reading this can remember the Hausmann’s from KS in your prayers tonight, I know they would be greatly appreciated.
